A quick guide to live fuel management
Enduro Manager provides a driver fuel overlay to help you manage fuel. The many settings make it usable by anyone - from learning fuel management, basic strategic moves, to full expert mode: you decide what data you want to see during your races. In this article, we focus on the basics.

We describe below the 3 main configurations for the "Default columns" setting.
1. Minimalist: live fuel usage only
- Why? To monitor live fuel usage and learn basic fuel management.
- Shows the fuel used between your current position on track and the same position on your previous lap.
- This number is live: it changes as soon as your fuel usage differs from the previous lap: lift and coast at the end of a straight, and you see the fuel usage go down
- This is the best tool to see live the impact of lifting and coasting, and to learn how to save fuel.
2. Basic fuel strategy - laps left and fuel target
2.85 L/lap | 7 | [2.70-2.94]
- Why? To define your strategy, extend your stint by one lap, overtake another driver in the pits, or push to finish with a close to empty tank.
Laps left
- The number shown is the number of full laps that you can do once the current lap is over. So if you see "2", whether you just crossed the start/finish line or are halfway on the lap, you can finish your current lap and then do 2 more laps before pitting. Why do we use a full number?
- Note: by default, with the setting Message "Pit this / next lap" turned on, instead of seeing "1" you will see "PIT NEXT LAP", and instead of seeing "0" you will see "PIT THIS LAP". As long as you see "PIT NEXT LAP", you do not need to pit yet
Fuel target
- In the example above, you have 7 laps of fuel left. Your current fuel usage is 2.85 L/lap. The target range shows [2.70 - 2.94]. Get below 2.70 and you'll be able to do 8 laps instead of 7. Go above 2.94 and you'll have to pit in 6 laps instead
- The fuel target is dynamic: stay at 2.85 L/lap and the 8-lap target (2.70) will slowly go down to 2.69, 2.68... and become harder to reach
- The fuel target includes a 0.3 L reserve. Why?
- Strategically, you want to define how many laps you want to extract from your tank, and adapt your fuel usage. Here are 3 common use cases:
- Extend your stint to finish the raceIf you believe the race has 8 laps left, then you'll need to decrease your fuel usage to below 2.70 to extract 8 laps from your tank
- Finish the race with minimum fuelIf you believe the race has 7 laps left, then you would currently finish the race with unused fuel. So you can stop saving fuel and increase your fuel usage to 2.94 L/lap and still finish the 7 laps with the 0.3 L reserve
- Overtake another driver in the pitsIf you're stuck behind another driver and want to overtake them in the pits, stay behind them in the draft and decrease your fuel usage using lift and coast so that you can extend your stint by 1 more lap. That driver will likely need to pit before you do, and when you pit you'll have less fuel to add, which might get you out of the pits in front.
- On your last lap of fuel, fuel targets become irrelevant, and instead we show the amount of fuel expected when you cross the finish line or reach your pit box. Stay above 0.2 L and your engine will not stutter.
3. Basic stint and team collaboration - time left and total stint duration
2.85 L/lap | 7 | [2.70-2.94] | 13:40 | 42:30
- Why? To tell your teammate when you will pit, and to achieve team stint duration targets to avoid extra pit stops
- Time left: projected time until you pit - the time for laps left to reach 0, plus the time to finish that last lap
- Total stint duration: Estimated duration of the whole stint at the moment you will pit. Use it when you must achieve a stint duration target (ex: 4h races where each driver must have a stint of at least 1h or 59:30 to avoid an extra pit stop)
4. Need more? There is more
This section covers features under construction. Once finished, we will give you more customizations to only show the data you actually need.
- Open "Advanced settings" and select "Default mode: Advanced" to see your fuel usage history, and see the data using your 3 laps average
- Select "Default mode: Expert" to see even more data like number of laps left until empty, time until empty, stint duration if running until empty (not documented yet)
- Select "Show fuel calculator" to explore this feature (still under construction and not documented yet)
